One Touch Media
Many states of Sudan are witnessing a rise in the prices of food and consumer goods and fuel, and in addition to the high prices, the areas where the Rapid Support Forces are located are experiencing scarcity and lack of food supplies. According to the Sudanese Ministry of Agriculture, the war affected agriculture in Sudan and cash and food crops, because it was a comprehensive war that included several states, as the five states of the Darfur region and the states of West and South Kordofan, Al-Jazira and Khartoum were affected, and the impact was severe in the delivery of agricultural inputs to these areas and the shortage of labor. With the fall of the Jabal Muya region, west of Sennar State, in mid-June, into the hands of the Rapid Support Forces, major roads for transporting goods and foodstuffs linking Sennar State to the states of Al-Jazira and the White Nile State were closed. The city of Al-Manaqil and the White Nile State, west of Sennar, witnessed an increase and scarcity of food and consumer goods. Citizens in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, are suffering from high food prices amid the erosion of the value of the Sudanese pound and its diminishing purchasing value, with a scarcity of access to food, especially in areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces, where these forces steal and loot markets and shops.
