Beijing Winter Games Flame

The flame lighting ceremony for the Beijing Winter Games takes place in Greece’s Ancient Olympia on Monday, October 18.

The event will be followed by a flame handover ceremony to Beijing organizers at the Kallimarmaro stadium in Athens on October 19.

The 2022 Winter Games are set to take place from February 4-20, 2022, but preparations have been affected since the COVID-19 outbreak spread from China in January 2020.

The Associated Press provides fully manned and equipped stand-up positions at the following locations:

• Ancient Olympia - 18 Oct operational from 0800 GMT
• Outside PANATHINAIKOS Stadium - 19 Oct operational from 1000 GMT
