72ND BERLIN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

10 - 16 February 2022

The 72nd Berlin International Film Festival opens this Thursday 10 February, with red carpet arrivals and speeches by government officials. Jury President M. Night Shyamalan will then officially call the opening of the festival.

There are 18 films from around the world in competition, including new movies by French director Francois Ozon and Italy's Paolo Taviani, who at 90 years old, is the oldest award contender.

Horror master Dario Argento will feature his first new film in a decade "Dark Glasses", starring his daughter Asia. Despite limited press and fans, top Hollywood stars such as Emma Thompson, Sigourney Weaver, Isabelle Huppert are expected on the red carpet to present their latest films.

Eurovision News Events, on behalf of the Berlinale, is distributing host coverage of the red carpet, opening and closing ceremonies, with restrictions.
