MEMORIAL CEREMONY GENDARMENMARKT
Germany will hold a memorial ceremony for the people who have died from the coronavirus pandemic. The ceremony will take place at Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (8.15GMT) and the main ceremony at the Berlin concert hall Gendarmenmarkt (11.00GMT). President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will lead the ceremony. Chancellor Angela Merkel, President of the Bundestag Wolfgang Schäuble, President of the Federal Council Reiner Haseloff and President of the Federal Constitutional Court Stephan Harbarth will attend.
