An increase in the intensity of the pandemic has led Covid-19 to spread at a faster pace than 2020 and the next four weeks are very critical, the Indian Government said in a statement. India recorded 125,000 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, its highest single-day rise since the coronavirus outbreak. Prime Minister Modi will be holding a crucial meeting today with the state representatives to control the spread and increase vigilance and put more restrictions.

Meanwhile, several cities have declared a complete lockdown from 9th April. India commercial capital Mumbai going for a 3 days lockdown from 9th April and cities like Raipur, Bhopal, Indore will be implementing strict lockdown from 9th April.
