Congressman John Lewis Lies In State

Georgia congressman John Lewis's body will lie in state at the U.S. Capitol this Monday and Tuesday. An invitation-only ceremony will take place in the Capitol rotunda in the afternoon, to be followed by a public viewing of his casket on the east front steps of the Capitol.

Due to coronavirus precautions, the public will file past on the East Plaza. Face masks will be required and social distancing will be enforced.

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden will be among those honoring Lewis at the U.S. Capitol this Monday.
