LONDON - 20-21 APRIL 2020
Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II is to celebrate her 94th birthday in private on Tuesday 21 April, having expressed that she does not want the traditional gun salute "as she did not feel it appropriate" during the coronavirus pandemic, Buckingham Palace said.
Meanwhile, the Duke of Edinburgh - the monarch's husband who is soon to celebrate his 99th birthday - released a rare statement recognising "the vital and urgent work being done by so many to tackle the pandemic" in the U.K.
And in a letter released on Monday, Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, say they will no longer cooperate with several British tabloid newspapers because of what they call “distorted, false or invasive” stories.
