The United Nations Security Council will convene today to discuss the Turkish military operation in northeaster Syria.

The meeting is requested by European council nations - Belgium, France Germany, Poland and the UK.

The U.N. refugee agency says tens of thousands of civilians in Syria are on the move to escape the fighting and seek safety amid a Turkish offensive into the area.
