TRUMP TO MAKE CONTROVERSIAL JULY FOURTH ADDRESS
WASHINGTON DC, USA | 4 JULY 2019

REPORTERS AVAILABLE FOR CUSTOM LIVE SHOTS

After losing out on his wish for a military parade in Washington, U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he will be addressing a "Salute to America" event at the Lincoln Memorial during the United States' annual Fourth of July celebration.

The administration says Trump will give a speech honoring America's armed forces. Many officials have voiced concerns that Trump could alter the tone of what traditionally is a nonpartisan celebration of America's founding by delivering an overtly political speech.

Trump added himself to an event that typically has not included the president. During his reelection kick-off rally in Florida last week, Trump called on his supporters to travel to Washington in support. Some groups are organizing anti-Trump protests.

July 4th Trump Address
04/07/2019
WASHINGTON, D.C., UNITED STATES

President Trump has announced that military tanks will be on display as part of his plans to change the annual 4th of July celebrations into a demonstration of the nation’s military capabilities. The tanks will join a flyover from Air Force One and the Navy’s Blue Angels jets. Trump will also deliver a speech from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Trump’s plans have drawn the ire of his opponents who disagree with the politicization of the annual Independence Day celebration.
