AIPAC POLICY CONFERENCE
WASHINGTON DC, USA | 23-26 MARCH 2019
The powerful pro-Israel lobby AIPAC is set to hold its annual conference in Washington, DC, beginning on Sunday.
Vice-President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo are expected to defend President Trump's Israel policy, including the US Embassy move to Jerusalem, and his administration's hardline stance on Iran.
This year's AIPAC conference comes shortly after a congressional resolution that condemned anti-Semitism. Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's comments were perceived as being anti-Semitic, leading President Trump to call the Democratic Party "anti-Jewish" and "anti-Israel".
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will address the conference, as will Benny Gantz, his rival in the upcoming Israeli election.
