An international summit aiming to promote stability and freedom in the Middle East will be held in Poland in February, said US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in the interview for Fox News. The summit in Poland would be focusing on Iran’s influence in the region. Popeo added that it would bring together top officials from “Asia, Africa, Europe and the Western Hemisphere.
According to US Secretary, the conference will take place on February 13 and 14.

The U.S. and Poland are to co-host an international forum on the Middle East in Warsaw, Poland, on February 13-14.
The conference aims to address issues including extremism, terrorism, weapons proliferation and maritime trade security and would allow the world to see “the enormous coalition that is prepared to assist in creating stability and peace” in the region, according to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
Among the regional leaders invited to participate is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose attendance might complicate participation by some Arab countries.

Following strong European objections and Russian criticism, the US is now describing the event as a brainstorming session on Middle East issues. It remains unclear what level of officials will attend and whether Poland will extend an invitation to Iran.
