A would-be suicide bomber tried to blow himself up outside the US Embassy in Cairo, Egypt but was stopped and arrested by police, it is claimed.
There were reports that a second bomb may have been intact nearby and the man was carrying a gun.
Security sources told Reuters that the man was detained after throwing an explosive device near the embassy.
The embassy is on lockdown and it has warned people to stay away from the area.
