Poland will mark 74th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. As every year on August 1, exactly at 5 pm - the time when the uprising begun - in order to commemorate the heroism of the fighters the sirens will be sound. This is the moment when people set aside their daily activities and stop on the streets for a moment of silence.
The Warsaw Uprising took place on 1 August 1944, when the Polish resistance attempted to liberate Warsaw from Nazi Germany in occupied Poland. The uprising lasted for 63 days, ending after massive retaliation by the Nazis
