The first day of the high-level General Debate will be Tuesday, September 25th.

On Monday, September 24th, the UNGA will hold a high-level plenary meeting on global peace in honor of the centenary of the birth of Nelson Mandela, known as the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit.

On Wednesday, September 26th, the UNGA will hold a high-level meeting on the fight against tuberculosis.

On Thursday, 27 September, the UN will hold a one-day comprehensive review of the progress achieved in the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases.

To assist in your coverage, the Associated Press will be operational at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. Additional facilities are available at AP’s bureau in downtown Manhattan.

Journalists who have a valid UN Media pass covering this period, DO NOT need to apply for a separate badge to cover UNGA.

The last day to renew long term accreditation will be 15 August, after which only UNGA passes will be issued.

The General Debate of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly will begin in New York on Tuesday, September 25th and will include an address by U.S. President Donald Trump as well as Iranian president Hassan Rouhani.
On Wednesday, September 26th, President Trump will chair a high-level meeting on Iran to highlight its “violations of international law”. President Trump will also host a meeting on countering narcotics and will issue a call to action to the world leaders assembled in New York.
