House of Commons Vote on the European Withdrawal Bill
LONDON, UK
12 & 13 June 2018 Parliament
The British government could face another blow to its Brexit agenda on Tuesday 12 June when its key piece of legislation returns to the House of Commons.
Parliament's upper chamber, the House of Lords, has inserted amendments to soften the terms of departure from the European Union and keep the U.K. economy closely aligned with that of the remaining 27-nation bloc.
The government has vowed to overturn the amendments.
The U.K. is set to leave the EU on 29 March 2019 following a 2016 vote in favour of Brexit.
