BRITISH PRIME MINISTER THERESA MAY TO ADDRESS PARLIAMENT AFTER SYRIA AIRSTIKES
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
16 APRIL 2018

British Prime Minister Theresa May is to face MPs after ordering the RAF to take part in joint strikes against Syrian chemical weapons sites alongside the US and France.

Mrs May faces multiple criticism from opposition parties for taking action without parliament’s approval and without a UN Security Council resolution.
The Prime Minister will be given an opportunity to illustrate her legal and moral argument to justify the bombings. It is expected her argument will revolve around national interest to prevent the use of chemical weapons in Syria and to uphold and defend a global consensus that these weapons should not be used.
In the meantime Boris Johnson has warned the UK must prepare for retaliation by Russia for its role in the air strikes in Syria.

Protests are expected in Parliament Square as Ms May illustrates justification for her actions.
