Poles all over Poland will protest against changes in judeical law. The biggest demonstration is expected to take place in front of the Presidential Palace.
New law is implementing changes to the Supreme Court and the influential National Judiciary Council (KRS). It lowers the retirment age for judges in the Supreme Court, pushing most of them into retirment. It also gives the right to the parliament to select members of KRS.
Previous attempts to change the law caused massive protests all over Poland. The bill addopted by the Parliament was partialy vetoed by the President Andrzej Duda.

According to the opposition members and most of the experts the new law is giving too big power to one political party and is a threat to judicial independence. The Venice Commission, international watchdog said that sweeping changes planned to Poland’s courts put the independence of “all parts” of the Polish judiciary “at serious risk.”
