OLYMPIC LEADERS TO DECIDE ON RUSSIAN BAN AT 2018 WINTER GAMES

A decision about the participation of Russian athletes in the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 will be taken by the International Olympic Committee Executive Board on 5 December in Lausanne.
Russia has been embroiled in a long-running scandal, with anti-doping authorities alleging that athletes, coaches and government officials participated in widespread cheating.
A press conference will be organised to announce the decision at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday 5 December. Media representatives wishing to cover the meetings are requested to register by Friday 1 December on the IOC website.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board will meet in Lausanne on 5 and 6 December 2017. A decision with regard to the participation of Russian athletes in the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 will be taken by the IOC Executive Board, based on the findings of the two Commissions led by the former President of Switzerland, Samuel Schmid, and IOC Member Denis Oswald.
