CATALONIA CRISIS

The Spanish constitutional court has temporarily suspended the planned extraordinary session of the Catalan Parliament set for Monday, 9 October . It has been postponed a day later on 10 October

The Catalan President, Mr Puigdemont had indicated that Catalonia could declare independence within the next few days. In a televised address held on Wednesday evening, Mr Puigdemont criticised Spain's king Felipe for his stance on last weekend's independence referendum but he also called the current point in the crisis a "moment for mediation".
