COP24 UN CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE

International representatives gather in Katowice, Poland, from 3-14 December for the annual UN Climate Change Conference, aimed at battling global carbon emissions.

The 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – known as COP24 – is expected to finalise rules to allow for the implementation of the landmark 2015 Paris Agreement, which commits 190 nations to taking measures to limit global temperature increase.

A major point of contention remains the financial assistance which wealthy nations are to provide to developing countries as they fight natural disasters brought by climate change.
