COMEY RUSSIA TESTIMONY

Former FBI director James Comey will appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, June 8th. Comey, who was fired by President Donald Trump while investigating ties between top Trump aides and Russia, may give testimony that confirms the President pressured him to drop the investigation. The White House has issued a statement saying it will allow Comey to testify at the hearing and will not assert executive privilege. Comey will appear in an open session, followed by a closed one.

The White House and its allies are scrambling for ways to offset potential damage from fired FBI Director James Comey’s highly anticipated congressional testimony, an appearance that could expose new details about his discussions with President Donald Trump about the federal investigation into Russia’s election meddling.
