FRENCH LEGISLATIVE ELECTIONS: 2ND ROUND
PARIS, FRANCE
18 JUNE, 2017

The second round of French Legislative Elections is taking place on Sunday 18th of June to elect all 577 members of the French National Assembly. French President, Emmanuel Macron is hoping to cash in on his recent success in the presidential elections to push forward his own party, La République En Marche!.

All previous French presidents have also benefitted from a legislative majority following their election but the question is whether Macron's relatively young party will be able to gather the required votes to maintain the tradition.

France still remains under a state of emergency with a police force of over 50 000 officers on partol throughout the country.
