The Association Council will take stock of the implementation progress of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement since the previous Association Council of 14 March 2016.

It will be chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Pavel Filip. The EU High Representative Federica Mogherini will lead the EU delegation.

The Council will examine the reform process in the Republic of Moldova, as part of the political dialogue and cooperation. The Council will also review convergence between the EU and the Republic of Moldova in the field of foreign and security policy.

The Council will discuss how to step up cooperation in the area of justice, freedom and security. This includes judiciary reform , the fight against corruption, organised crime, human trafficking, terrorism, irregular migration and money laundering.

The Council will address progress made under the deep and comprehensive free trade area (DCFTA), as well as economic and sector cooperation between the EU and the Republic of Moldova.
