Taliban militants have claimed responsibility for the suicide attack on the house of the Helmand Member of Parliament, Mir Wali, that killed five people on Wednesday night. An important military meeting of officials was underway when the attack took place.
One attacker blew himself up, allowing two other gunmen to enter the compound. The lawmaker was wounded in the attack but survived, however two of his grandchildren succumbed to injuries.
