Fidel Castro, Cuba's former president and leader of the Communist revolution, has died aged 90, his brother has said: "The commander in chief of the Cuban revolution died at 22:29 hours this evening (03:29 GMT Saturday)"

HAVANA - DEATH OF FIDEL CASTRO
HAVANA, CUBA
28TH NOVEMBER - DECEMBER 4TH

The former Cuban leader Fidel Castro has died at the age of 90.

Fidel Castro had given up power to his brother following an illness in 2006, but remained an influential figure in Cuban life. He foretold his death during his last address to the Communist Party in April 2016.

Castro's remains will be interred on December 4th following a nine-day period of mourning.

Eurovision will offer standup positions from the Plaza de la Revolución where mourners will come to pay their respects. A mass will be held in the evening of November 29th.

Standup positions will also be available in Santiago de Cuba from the Plaza Antonio Maceo where a mass will be held on December 3rd. Castro's remains will be interred at Cementerio Santa Ifigeniaon on Saturday December 4th.

EUROVISION Special Events will offer the following facilities onsite:

• Playout from the Eurovision Havana bureau
• Standup positions from the Plaza de la Revolución in Havana (available November 28-30)

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

November 30 until December 3::
Fidel Castro ashes will begin the journey that the Caravana de la Libertad recalls in January of 1959, until the province of Santiago de Cuba, concluding December 3.

December 3
A mass will take place at 1900local at the Plaza de la Revolucion "Antonio Maceo".

December 4
The burial ceremony will be held at 0700local at the cemetery of "Santa Ifigenia".

CPI ACCREDITATION
AP will assist with Visa applications. However, in order to work as a journalist in Cuba, all broadcasters must register with CPI (International Press Center). This also goes for ALL on-air guests.

Upon arrival in Cuba, journalists must report to:
International Press Center

Each journalist must fill in an media accreditation form, present passport, Cuban visa, 2 head shot photos and pay a feed of CUC100 (cash).
