27.11.2016Italy: Thousands expected at final rally against Renzi's Constitutional Referendum *** ARCHIVE
Raw-News
Thousands of people are expected to take part in the final demo protest in Rome against Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and his proposed constitutional reform. The protesters are rallying for the "No" vote, which would lead to Renzi's government destabilization. The "No" is in front of the latest published polls by at least 5 points. Renzi has often stated that he is considering resignation should Italians reject the Referendum.
The "No" front is composed by both right and left wing parties. Anti-governmental forces, also present, may turn the protest violent as happened in Florence on November 5.
The protest will take place in Rome on Sunday, November 27 at 1 GMT.
The referendum will take place over the course of the day on Sunday, December 4.
