The “Hamburg Summit” was initiated and organised by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce for the first time in 2004 as a platform for an open dialogue between Europe and China with the goal to improve the economic relations and the understanding of each other. Since then, the conference has become the major conference on Sino-European business relations.
The guests of honour are Ms Liu Yandong, Vice-Premier of the People’s Republic of China and Mr Jyrki Katainen, Vice President of the European Commission, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Martin Schulz, president of the European Parliament.
