TVN News & Services Agency

Thousands of Poles will protest against signing the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between EU and Canada and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the European Union and the United States by Polish government. The biggest demonstraion will take place in Warsaw in front of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

CETA (free trade agreement between UE- Canada) together with TTIP aim at creating a transatlantic zone of free trade. CETA is ready to be signed whereas the negotiations regarding TTIP are ongoing although many countries have already announced to block the adoption of this agreement. According to the organisers of the protest "CETA is then the crucial agreement for big businesses. Just the opposite for the citizens on both sides of Atlantic who aim at blocking this agreement."

The Council of the European Union consisting of the ministers of all member states plans to sign CETA on the 18th October.
