COLOMBIA-FARC PEACE REFERENDUM
BOGOTA, COLOMBIA | 02 OCTOBER 2016 - onwards
Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos says he won't give up on peace with leftist rebels.

On Sunday voters by a thin margin rejected a referendum for a peace deal for their war-torn country.

The peace proposal had come after four years of grueling negotiations. Colombians overwhelmingly loathe the rebel group FARC, and many considered the accord an insult to victims of the long-running conflict.
