The Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge , Istanbul’s third bridge to connect the Asian and European sides of Istanbul over the Bosporus strait, will open on August 26th. It will be inaugurated with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and foreign guests.
The mega project, worth of $3 billion, is a first in the world as it includes a rail system alongside the roadway, and it is expected to alleviate traffic in Istanbul, as well as eliminate air pollution and environmental problems arising from urban traffic.
