US Vice President Joe Biden is to visit on August 24, to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Binali Yildirim. It comes more than a month after a failed military coup shook the Nato member state. Biden's visit is expected to focus on the developments following the failed coup attempt by Gulenist Terror Organization, FETO, and extradition of it's leader Fethullah Gulen who lives in self-imposed exile in Pennsylvania.

ANKARA AND ISTANBUL, TURKEY

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden will visit Turkey on August 24 to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Binali Yildirim in Ankara.
During the meetings, it is expected that an extradition request for US-based cleric Fettulah Gulen will arise, as he is accused of planning the coup by the Turkish Government. US officials have announced that the State and Justice Departments will give due consideration to the extradition request for Gulen and make any decision based on the evidence presented in the request.
Biden will be the highest level American visitor to Turkey since the failed coup in July.
