The purpose of his trip is to discuss mutually beneficial ventures on economy in energy and transport with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov. The two countries have seen positive business developments in the recent past including the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) gas pipeline. Greece and Bulgaria are also planning on creating a liquefied natural gas terminal near Alexandroupoli in northern Greece.
