On 16 September, the Informal Meeting of the 27 EU Heads of State or Government will be held in Bratislava. The 27 heads of state or government will discuss the political and practical implications of 'Brexit' including a resumption of the debate on the future of the European Union.

President Tusk intends to consult all EU leaders ahead of the Bratislava meeting with a view to discussing both the handling of and the substance of the recommendations for future reforms and development of the EU with 27 member states. "We are determined to remain united and work in the framework of the EU to deal with the challenges of the 21st century and find solutions in the interest of our nations and peoples. We stand ready to tackle any difficulty that may arise from the current situation", leaders stated.
