Lausanne, Switzerland 21 June 2016 The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has convened an Olympic Summit on 21 June in Lausanne. Ahead of the Olympic Games Rio 2016, the Olympic Summit will coordinate and harmonise the approach among the International Federations, which take the first decision on the eligibility of athletes with respect to qualification for and participation in the Olympic Games. The discussion will have to address the difficult decision between collective responsibility and individual justice. The Olympic Summit involves leading representatives of the Olympic Movement. It forms part of the ongoing dialogue and consultation on the main topics of interest and concern to the Olympic Movement. It brings together the IOC Vice-Presidents and the presidents of the major Olympic Movement stakeholders. Russia's TASS news agency has reported that the President of the Russian Olympic Committee, Alexander Zhukov, will make a report at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Summit in Lausanne on 21 June, where a decision is expected on Russia's participation in the Summer Olympic Games in Brazil. The IAAF decided at its session in Vienna, Austria last Friday, 17 June, uphold the suspension of the All-Russian Athletics Federations's (ARAF).
