The Unesco World Heritage Commitee will take place in Istanbul from 10th to 20th of July 2016. It is in charge of implementing the World Heritage Convention, defining the use of the World Heritage Fund and allocating financial assistance upon requests from state parties. This year it inscribed 24 new sites on UNESCO's World Heritage List and approved extensions to three existing sites.
