On Tuesday European Commission Vice-President Frans Timmermans will come to Warsaw to meet Poland's Prime Minister Beata Szydlo. The discussion will concern a crisis over the country’s Constitutional Tribunal.

The commission last week gave Poland what was seen as a Monday deadline to find a solution to an ongoing row and a deadlock over the Tribunal. But on Monday afternoon European Commission spokesman Margaritis Schinas said “constructive” discussions were ongoing in the hope of finding a way out of the stalemate.
