The EU Foreign Affairs Council is to meet in Brussels. Chaired by the EU high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, Federica Mogherini, foreign ministers from the 28 EU member states are due to attend. The agenda will include the EU regional strategy for Syria and Iraq, the ISIL/Da'esh threat and the external aspects of migration.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS COUNCIL
BRUSSELS, BELGIUM
23 MAY 2016
The Foreign Affairs Council will take place in Brussels on 23 May, 2016. The Council will discuss the EU regional strategy for Syria and Iraq as well as the ISIL/Da'esh threat and is expected to adopt conclusions. This strategy was adopted on 16 March 2015 and it outlines actions to be undertaken by the EU and its member states to help restore peace and security in Syria and Iraq.
Ministers will also discuss the external aspects of migration.
Over lunch, the High Representative will brief ministers on the EU global strategy. This strategy is intended to guide the European Union's global actions in the coming years.
