CANADA WILDFIRE
FORT McMURRAY, ALBERTA | 08 MAY 2016 - ONWARDS

Canadian officials feared a massive wildfire could double in size by the end of Saturday as they continue to evacuate residents of fire-ravaged Fort McMurray from work camps north of Alberta's oil sands city.

Thousands more displaced residents were getting a sobering drive-by view of their burned-out city as convoys continued Saturday.

The region has the third-largest reserves of oil in the world behind Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. An analyst said that as much as 1 million barrels a day of oil may be offline, based on oil company announcements. That's just over a third of Canada's total oil sands output.

To aid your coverage, Global Media Services can offer a range of broadcast facilities, including:

* Live stand-up positions at the evacuation centre in Lac la Biche, south of Fort McMurray, Alberta.
* Multi-format playout facilities.
* International delivery via AP's satellite and fibre networks.

LAC LA BICHE, ALBERTA, CANADA
8 MAY 2016 ONWARDS

A series of wildfires which have already destroyed much of the town of Fort McMurray in Alberta were continuing to grow in size as hot, windy weather showed no sign of relenting.

80,000 people have been evacuated and a massive airlift has been taking place to rescue thousands of residents who fled north and became trapped by the fires.

More than 40 separate fires were being fought but the authorities admitted there was no chance of containing them without a change in the weather.

EUROVISION Special Events can provide live stand-ups and playouts from Lac la Biche, a town to the south of Fort McMurray from which rescue efforts are being coordinated and where many evacuees have been arriving. A Eurovision producer will be on location in Lac la Biche from Sunday morning to assist correspondents and coordinate feeds.

• Standup position for live programme inserts
• Playouts with customer's camera or deck
• Connectivity to the Eurovision Global Network
