The Olympic Flame Lighting Ceremony in Ancient Olympia, will take place on Thursday April 21st 2016.
According to the ritual, priestesses from the Altar of Hera dressed in archaic-style clothing surround the Altar, while the High-priestess invoking god Apollo lights the torch, using a concave mirror.
On Wednesday April 27th 2016 after a tour around Greece, the Olympic Flame Handover Ceremony will take place in Panathenaic Stadium.
From the home of the first modern Olympics in 1896, the sacred flame will be delivered to the Brazilian delegation of Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
