Interior and transport ministers from nine European countries will meet in Paris on Saturday to discuss security measures following last week's attack on a high-speed train that was foiled by passengers.
The meeting will gather together ministers from Germany, Britain, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, France as well as non-EU member Switzerland. French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve wants to examine whether the countries can implement a system that allows for coordinated and systematic checks at airports and in trains.

The European Union (EU) interior and transport ministers will meet on Saturday, August 29, in Paris to discuss the new measures that will be taken after a man discharged a Kalashnikov assault rifle on a Thalys train last week. The ministers will discuss potential new procedures, focusing specifically on trains that are crossing the continent.
