Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - 28 July - 3 August 2015

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will gather at its 128th Session in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 31 July until 3 August, with a key day on 31 July for the election of the host city of the 2022 Olympic Winter Games by secret ballot.

Two cities are competing: Beijing, China & Almaty, Kazakhstan. Most of the skiing competitions would take place in the Zhangjiakou mountain clusters, 180 kilometers from Beijing. Almaty plan is based on seven existing winter sports venues and four facilities to be built near Kazakh’s capital.

The election of the host city for the 3rd edition of the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in 2020 will also take place in Kuala Lumpur during that 128th IOC Session. Lausanne in Switzerland and Brasov in Romania are competing. Ahead of the session, the Executive Board of the IOC will meet from 28 to 30 July.
