The Eurogroup announced there is a request from Greece for an extension of its EUR 6 million bailout.
Dutch Finance Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem, chairman of the Eurogroup, composed of Eurozone finance ministers, said Thursday-via his twitter account- that Greece requested a 6 month extension on its bailout agreements. The details and terms have not been released. The Eurogroup countires will hold an extraordinary meeting to discuss the Greek situation and how to proceed.
Athens has been seeking a different solution, saying the present terms are unacceptable to them. International creditors have been putting pressure on the Greek government to extend its existing bailout package.
