The German chancellor, Angela Merkel, is to visit Washington for talks with US president Barack Obama about the G7 summit which Germany will host in June.
As well as the summit, Merkel will also discuss the Ukraine crisis, relations with Russia, the fight against Islamic State, the situation in Afghanistan and Iran and subjects such as economic policy, trade and climate issues.
