This position involves coordination and supervision of the work of staff and freelance video correspondents in the US, Canada and the Caribbean. You will support the Video Editor-in-Chief in all aspects of coverage including breaking news, sports, features and live broadcasts. You will be managing, alongside the Video Editor-in-Chief, a team of 19 people: the Head of Video Output, seven producers (two of whom are based in Los Angeles), seven VJs, two journalists in the MCR, and two MCOs. Experience and the ability to plan coverage of major calendar events are critical, as is the ability to coordinate teams of video journalists in response to large breaking news stories. Calmness under pressure, a strong understanding of broadcast and digital clients’ needs, and a solid pertinent knowledge of US political and societal issues are all must-haves.
