Desk News Organizer

The Desk News Organizer (DNO) is a professional hybrid who fuses her/his excellent editorial knowledge with an equally strong understanding of the technological and production side of broadcasting. As the main link between Production and Editorial, the Desk News Organizer, ensures all materials are delivered & recorded to the Newsroom as quickly and cost effectively as possible.
This position is ideal for anyone who wants to start a career in journalism and/or TV news production.
Ruptly video news agency is operating 24/7. The Desk News Organizer must be willing and able to work any shift, including nights and weekends.

Your profile

Being a voracious reader and viewer of all news available in traditional mass media and online
Being an original thinker, possessing the ability to anticipate news developments
Familiarity with the basic operation of live broadcast trucks, satellite and microwave receivers, FTPing, live
streaming and other equipment and technologies of modern television news-gathering
Being able to multitask and manage daily duties under extreme pressure
Excellent news judgment
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Other qualifications

Social media savvy (e.g Tweetdeck, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok) and how to use them for newsgathering purposes;
Authorisation to work in Germany.

Desirable

Any additional languages beside English would be considered an asset.
