Multiple/Remote: Video Editor/Producer - Human Rights Watch (HRW)

Job Vacancy:
Video Editor/Producer - Human Rights Watch (HRW)

Closing Date: 10th June 2021

Who we are:
Human Rights Watch (HRW) investigates and reports on human rights abuses happening in all corners of the world. We are roughly 500 people of 70-plus nationalities who work to protect the most at risk, from vulnerable minorities and civilians in wartime, to refugees and children in need. The Multimedia Division is where we craft our visual messaging and deliver it to our audiences in order to raise public awareness of the human rights violations HRW investigates and documents.

The opportunity:
The Editor / Producer will be a video journalist able to produce compelling stories that expose abuses, present solutions to advance rights, showcase activist partners worldwide and persuade key audiences to embrace and value human rights. The Editor / Producer will ideally be based in Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, London, Johannesburg, Nairobi, Tunis, Amman or Beirut, and reports to the Multimedia Director based in New York. This is a fixed-term, full-time position for six (6) months, with an anticipated start in June 2021.

Due to COVID-19, many of our global offices are currently closed or operating in reduced capacities. The successful candidate may be required to work remotely initially or if local requirements mandate it. We recognize that this moment, during the pandemic, is a uniquely difficult time for most people, particularly those with caregiving responsibilities, and we aim to be as flexible and supportive as possible in both the recruitment for and onboarding of this position.
