Job Description
We are seeking a transformational Editor-in-Chief with an excellent track record in international journalism, managing global newsrooms and first-hand digital experience to lead our award-winning news team and work with them to deliver journalism that makes a difference.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of the Foundation’s news offering and to drive innovation and digital transformation, delivering content for both traditional wire distribution and a range of digital platforms - including the Foundation’s brand-new digital news product, currently under development.

You will spearhead the editorial operations of our 48 journalists and 250 freelancers around the world to produce content worthy of our world-class reputation for trusted, fair, accurate, insightful and unbiased news, aimed at purpose-driven professionals.

You will have live and breathe international affairs, in particular issues around climate, socio-economic and racial inclusion, ESG, the impact of technology on society, women’s rights and LGBT+ rights. The ideal candidate will have excellent news judgment, an in-depth knowledge of what drives a digital news consumer, proven success in reshaping a global news brand, and a flair for motivating a team to produce unique, powerful and impactful content.

We are looking for a creative individual, with an audience-first approach who thrives on leading though change. You will have extensive experience in understanding SEO, audience development and producing content and formats that deliver strong digital engagement. Teamwork, collaboration and a passion for digital transformation are essential, together with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will also represent the Foundation externally to build on its reputation as a thought leader, promoting the organisation’s journalism, together with its mission and values, at high-profile events and to key stakeholders, so experience in public speaking engagements is highly desirable.

Reporting to the Foundation’s CEO, you will be a member of the Foundation’s Senior Leadership team, working in close partnership with key internal and external stakeholders including the Director of Digital, the Director of Product and Technology, and the Director of Development.
