Job Introduction

BBC World Service provides news, current affairs and programmes on Radio, TV and Online to audiences across the world. We are looking for a Shoot Edit who will provide specialist support for shoot-edit and camera work for our news team in Beirut.

Role Responsibility
In the shoot edit role, you will be responsible for providing the best visual material, selecting of the locations for better filming, assisting the correspondent in planning and implementing use of resources.

You will be creative, offering ideas on how to film and illustrate and edit news stories and features to appeal to the BBC’s audiences. You will be comfortable working in Lebanon and abroad including hostile environments, with the ability to be deployed at short notice and if necessary out of regular working hours to capture live news coverage. Being able to work effectively and calmly in an environment where news is constantly changing is another key aspect of the shoot edit role.

Other day-to-day duties involve working closely with a World Service correspondent to develop scripts and occasionally writing material. You will also be in charge of setting up site facilities in order to meet programme needs and liaising effectively and establish good relations with all contacts both outside and inside the BBC.
