About the role
- Take a lead role in shaping the output and upholding quality of the daily video news file. Show deep experience of script subbing and QC skills.
- Manage the allocation of resources for daily production of news stories. Respond quickly to major breaking news events, demonstrating initiative.
- Coordinate with colleagues from text and pictures to deliver multimedia content.
- Feedback to staff on issues of quality and story structure; ability to juggle competing and changing news priorities
- Encourage bureaus and producers to produce personal and digitally friendly stories.
- Uphold Reuters editorial standards. A keen understanding of ethics in visual journalism and deep knowledge of media law.
- Be digitally fluent and be able to explain audiences' shifting needs.
- Work with newsroom leaders to help meet visuals’ strategic objectives, on everything from speed and standards to storytelling.
