i24NEWS is an international 24-hour news and current affairs television channel located in Tel Aviv, Israel. It broadcasts in English, French and Arabic in the US, Israel, the Gulf, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

  • Generate and pitch original stories and features about Israel and the Middle East
  • Research and produce news packages pertaining to the Middle East, following leads from news agencies, press conferences and other sources
  • Follow breaking news and developing news stories in Israel and the Middle East
  • Report live from the scene of breaking news stories
  • Prepare and present material for prerecorded field reports/ live-to-tape
  • Do compelling studio sit-ups
  • Fact check and verify sources for all stories
  • Present stories in a balanced, accurate and interesting way – writing entertaining, moving and informative scripts to pictures and graphics.
  • Write compelling story leads with the latest details for news anchors and show hosts
  • Establish and maintaining contacts with key political players and sources within the Middle East
  • Maintain an active presence on social media
  • Select appropriate locations, pictures and sound and exercise editorial judgment on the best angle from which to approach a story
  • Provide directorial input, advise crews on what to film or record
  • Identify potential interviewees, brief them, prepare interview questions and conduct both live and recorded interviews
  • Understand and comply with media law and industry codes of conduct

You should apply if:
  • You have an academic background in Middle Eastern Affairs
  • You have extensive knowledge about the international political and diplomatic landscape and the key political players in the Middle East
  • You are a fluent English, Hebrew and Arabic speaker
  • You are a professional journalist with experience in TV news
  • You have confidence in front of a camera and an 'on air' presence
  • You have good news judgment and experience in breaking news
  • You are able to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • You have the ability to build rapport and to handle interactions with sensitivity, empathy and diplomacy, while maintaining impartiality
  • You have excellent interviewing and listening skills
  • You are willing to work irregular hours including night shifts and weekends
  • You have exemplary analytical skills and the ability to absorb and present information clearly and in an understandable way
  • You are tenacious, persistent and resourceful
  • You have a good attitude, and are eager to contribute to a pleasant working environment
